Philadelphian Charged in Maple Shade Corpse Discovery
The investigation surrounding a corpse found in a car trunk at a Maple Shade hotel leads to the arrest of a suspect from Philadelphia accused of hiding it there.
Jesus Garcia, 41, is charged with concealment of human remains, a second-degree count.
If he fails to post $150,000 bail, Garcia's first appearance in Burlington County Superior Court in Mount Holly is scheduled for tomorrow, according to information from the office of county Prosecutor Robert Bernardi.
The remains of the woman have not yet been identified. An autopsy takes place this afternoon.
Investigators said that Maple Shade police, prompted by a missing-persons probe initiated by Philadelphia law enforcement, traveled to the Quality Inn on Route 38 Sunday night, where they found Garcia "in possession" of the car at about 9:45 PM.
