This past weekend, the Jersey Shore took a hard hit from a September Nor'easter that smashed our coastline and left severe flooding up and down the New Jersey Shoreline.

Some reports indicate that flooding along the Jersey Shore this past weekend in some areas rivals the amount of flooding seen during Superstorm Sandy.

Flooding has caused damage to many residents and businesses along the Jersey Shore, and as we head into the new week, even though conditions are getting better, many are still not out of the woods when it comes to localized flooding.

Chief Meteorologist Dan Zarrow Weather Headlines

☔ Light rain and drizzle from the nor'easter will continue until midday Monday.

👍 Wind and coastal flooding threats will continue to diminish.

😎 Partial sunshine breaks out tomorrow, with temps in the 70s and even 80s this week.

Did People Spot Sharks Swimming Down Their Neighborhood Streets?

According to reports, several videos have circulated on the Jersey Shore showing sharks swimming near neighborhoods. Imagine looking out your window and seeing a shark swimming past your house. It's like a scene out of Sharknado!

If sharks are swimming offshore and the tide brings water into neighborhoods along the shore, it seems possible that whatever is swimming out there could end up in the same waters running through our coastal neighborhoods. I'm not a marine biologist, but it seems logical, at least to me.

Did you see anything floating through your neighborhood?

What can or needs to be done to stop the coastal flooding when we get big storms along the Jersey Shore? How do we keep these waters from washing into our Shore towns? Can we keep the ocean out?
