Ok Be Honest Ocean County, Is It Too Soon for Halloween?
So let's have an open discussion about Halloween. For many, we are now beginning to see Halloween items pop up on shelves at stores around Ocean County, but is it too soon?
I was out this weekend and when I went into several stores I saw their Halloween items out and on sale a good two months before the holiday.

I know that Halloween is a huge holiday now with millions taking part in the spooky festivities each year. According to Google "Participation in Halloween activities in the United States 2015-2020. Halloween is a widely celebrated tradition in the United States, with around 70 percent of Americans planning to participate in Halloween celebrations in the years preceding 2020." So it may go without saying that it's not surprising to see Halloween decor out in stores more than two months in advance.
When it comes to decorating at our home April decorates with what she calls "cute Halloween" and "autumn" nothing too scary and a lot of "fall" colors and decor. This weekend we saw some cute things and plenty of "fall" colors in the stores...so now you have to say to yourself if I don't get my Halloween stuff soon, will it be sold out well before the holiday even reaches October 31st? I have a feeling we will start getting bits and pieces over the next few weeks.
How do YOU feel about shopping for Halloween in August?
