Remember how exciting it was for you as a kid to see your town looking so festive during Halloween? When you're young, it seemed like all of the decorations, and the parade just magically came together on their own.

As an adult, you realize just how much it truly "takes a village" to put together so many wonderful Halloween events. And if you play any part in organizing the Toms River Halloween Parade, the Scarecrow Walk, or any of the other amazing events that happen in Ocean County, this letter of gratitude is for you.

Your hard work to put smiles on the faces of so many children doesn't go unnoticed. And I guarantee those smiles will be even bigger this year since there weren't any celebrations last year.

All of the effort you put in will create memories that will last a lifetime, and stories that will be passed down for years to come.

We, as a community, are so lucky to have you. You don't have to go out of your way to create this fun on top of your regular workload, yet you do. Not every state - not even every county in New Jersey is lucky enough to have celebrations like these. And that's what part of makes living so special - people like you.
