When it comes to articles about Ocean County, there are opinions (we still disagree that Toms River is one of the most boring places in NJ), but then there are quantifiable facts that you can't really argue with. The Weather Channel just came out with a sobering list of "The Worst Places to Own a Home in the US". And, unfortunately, we're very high on the list.

Gulf Coast counties that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina make up the top of the list, but once we get out of the top 5, Ocean County is right there at #6.

To come up with the list, they took into account things like the damage from Sandy (over $10 billion), wildfire risk in the Pine Barrens, and deaths during the survey period.

It's not a great list to land on. And, unfortunately, you can't argue with the numbers. But, I think we've done a pretty darn good job of making the best of the challenges thrown at us in the last few years.

What do you think, do we deserve to be that high on the list? Let us know in the comments section!
