Get ready to pay more at some major roadway tolls in New Jersey. Come 2024 another increase will take effect.

Yep, the tolls are going up...again. By how much we don't know yet.

During a budget meeting Tuesday, New Jersey State Transportation Commissioner Diane Guttierrez-Scaccetti made the announcement that tolls will increase again for travelers on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway next year, NJ.com reports.

The hike falls under 'indexing', according to Guttierrez-Scaccetti, where an increase is reportedly related to economic factors.

How does THAT make sense? Economic factors? HELLO! INFLATION! We're already pay more for EVERYTHING. An 'economic' factor would be to offer us a DECREASE right about now, but what do I know, I'm in radio.

The increase will reportedly take effect Jan. 1, 2024.

2024 will mark the fourth straight year two of the state's major roadways have experienced a toll hike, according to NJ.com. It's reportedly too soon to know if Atlantic City Expressway tolls will eventually be raised also.
