The Art Of The Water Towers

I have discussed it before (photography) and shared photos I have taken over the years. It's a hobby for me and I do love capturing photos from all over our travels. If you are into photography as a hobby then you know what I am talking about. It's a passion to capture great subjects and scenery when you can. Whether it's a beautiful sunrise or sunset or a puppy sleeping, getting a great pic is always satisfying. In this particular case, it's the "water tower". Yes seems like a boring subject but there is a lot of features when it comes to water towers. Their shape, their design, their history, and the art are all part of what makes "water towers" a great subject. If you go to cities you will always find water tanks and towers scattered throughout the skyline and I love taking photos of those old ones, they make great black-and-white photos. Today a trend in suburban towns is to customize and paint their water towers, making them a piece of art in the sky.

This particular water tower is in Southern Ocean County in Little Egg Harbor. It's coming along but it appears there is still a bit of work (painting) going on. It's a beautiful work with a garden feel. Flowers, grass, birds, butterflies, dragonfly, etc. It is located off of Frog Pond Road next to the Sea Oaks development.

Many towns around New Jersey have begun repainting their water towers and turning them into a work of art for residents to enjoy. It still serves the community with water needs, but it adds a beautiful piece to the town's landscape.

Great job by the town making this a beautiful new addition to the community. I know I wouldn't do well painting these lol first I don't like heights and secondly, I am not a good painter lol.
