Memorial Day Friday Is Here – So Is The Traffic

As I'm writing this, it's mid-afternoon on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend here in Ocean County.

While there are still a few hours left in the workday, the exodus from north Jersey and New York to the Jersey Shore has begun, with the traffic on the Parkway reflecting that.

When I was coming to work at 11:30 this morning, here's what my Waze app looked like:

It was a 28 mile per hour slog down the Garden State Parkway through the Toms River Tolls.

As we know all too well, it's going to get worse before it gets better today.
