Improvements by the Ocean County Engineering Department to Hooper Avenue mean drivers can no longer make left turns at the intersections with College Drive and Fischer Boulevard. Drivers must utilize the new jug handles in order to go north or south on Hooper Ave.

The improvements are in conjunction with a scheduled timing sequence change to all of the traffic lights on Hooper Avenue from Water Street in downtown Toms River to Route 70 in Brick Township. The timing sequence change will begin May 4th and should be completed by May 8th.

The anticipated goal of the projects is to have a 10% to 15% reduction in the travel time for motorists traveling on  Hooper Avenue.
