Let’s Go! 5 Great Places to Hike in New Jersey
Hiking Ideas In The Garden State
Hiking is a huge sport that millions enjoy every day here in the United States and around the world. Statista states, "In 2023, 61.44 million Americans went hiking, which was the highest number since 2010. This is an increase of about 89% from 2010."

I enjoy hiking and my wife and I have hiked many of the great trails around New Jersey and when we vacation we like to hike local trails depending on where we are. I will admit we have not gotten out as much this winter as we have in the past, but we hope to change this in the months to come.
Hiking NJ
Finding new and exciting places to hike is always a great thing. When you get a new list of places to hike here in the Garden State it always gets my attention. This list comes from APP.com and looking through the 5 hikes recommended, it looks pretty good. Of the 5 we have only hiked one of the trails suggested.
The 5 trails recommended by APP.com include:
Rahway Fairy Trail, Millburn "The South Mountain Reservation Fairy Trail is a half-mile trail that takes under 30 minutes to complete. The trail offers visitors a scenic hike along a white-blazed path inhabited by "fairies." This is the 1 trail of this list we have already hiked and it's a fun family hike that you can make more intense if you don't have little ones with you, but if you love the Hobbit, then this is fun.
Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, North Brunswick "This park has five different trails all under two miles and takes less than 40 minutes to complete. The Mill Pond trail runs along a picturesque winding trail studded with stone steps and pond views."
Northern Community Park, Bordentown "The Abbott Marshlands has over 3000 acres with over seven different trails between 1.1 mile and 4.7 miles."
Etra Lake Park, East Windsor "Etra Park is a small park with a hiking trail that is 1.8 miles and takes 40 minutes to complete. The trail skirts the meadows, Sandy Acres farm and surrounds an arboretum. The trail has well-maintained sand and fine gravel for baby strollers and wheelchairs, and also features World Travel Exercise Stations along the trail."
Hunterdon County Arboretum, Lebanon "Visitors can do a self-guided nature trail of two miles that takes an hour to complete. You can combine your visit with a lovely display garden tour."
