Two men have been charged for possessing and dealing drugs across Atlantic County while another investigation is just underway after a man was found dead in a parked vehicle from an apparent drug overdose in Egg Harbor Township.

We'll begin with the latter case, as Egg Harbor Township Police announced that officers from the department responded to the parking lot outside of the Ramada West Atlantic City Hotel on the Black Horse Pike Tuesday afternoon around 3:25 pm and found unresponsive person in a vehicle.

Police said that officers on scene, "located a male who was obviously deceased, partially decomposing, seated in a parked vehicle."

Through their preliminary investigation, police said that evidence suggests there was no foul play and the death of 32-year-old Charles Vitolo of Ventnor "appears to be related to a drug overdose, however, the investigation is still ongoing."

Egg Harbor Township Police Detectives Richard Vogt and Katie Cantell are investigating and if you have any information that can help them, you're asked to contact the Egg Harbor Township Criminal Investigations Bureau at 609-926-4051.

In an unrelated case, two men, 38-year-old Jason Cintron of Hammonton and 39-year-old Jovani Rodriguez of Galloway, were indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury recently for possession and distribution of drugs in local communities, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators ran a near summer's long probe into drug activity and on June 16 the ACPO said law enforcement executed search warrants at Clinton's Jamestown Boulevard home in Hammonton, storage unit in Egg Harbor City, and his Ford F-150 after conducting surveillance in EHC.

During this sting, around 12:00 pm that day, detectives saw Cintron park on Philadelphia Avenue and then a little while later Rodriguez walked over and the two conversed window side.

Detectives knew something was up and the ACPO said that "believing they were observing a possible narcotics transaction, the HIDTA Task Force and ACPO Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics detectives approached Cintron and Rodriguez and verbally identified themselves as police officers."

Rodriguez then booked it on foot and when police caught up with him, a struggle ensued, and as a result, "that detective subsequently sustained injuries as a result of the struggle."

When he was detained at the scene, police said they found Rodriguez in possession of crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and heroin/fentanyl.

As for Cintron, the ACPO said police found "approximately over one-half ounce of heroin/fentanyl, over one-half ounce of crystal methamphetamine, and $459.00 in US currency" in his vehicle.

It was a match for the heroin they found on Rodriguez.

The ACPO said that when investigators searched Cintron's home, they found "a bag containing approximately 1 pound of crystal methamphetamine was recovered as well as a handgun magazine loaded with hollow point bullets."
