One New Jersey man sentenced for dealing Fentanyl, another for distributing child porn

Two New Jersey men have been sentenced for their separate but heinous crimes taking place in the Garden State.

An Egg Harbor Township man will spend four years in state prison a month after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and unlawful possession of ghost gun parts with a large capacity magazine, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Neal Garrity, 34, was found with these drugs and gun parts when law enforcement executed a search warrant at his home on Boston Avenue including garage and vehicle on June 10 following an undercover sting into his distribution of drugs across Atlantic County.

At his residence, investigators said that they found fentanyl and other drugs, an undisclosed amount of cash, and parts to assembly a ghost gun and a large capacity magazine as well.

Garrity will be serving four years in state prison while a Bridgeton man will spend 8 years in prison (96 months) for distribution and possession of child porn images.

The sentence of 39-year old Edwin "Macho Torres" Torres, announced by U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger follows a guilty plea  to one possession of child pornography.

Torres uploaded child porn videos to an internet public chat group from an address coming from his house in May of 2020, and then in September of 2021, law enforcement executed search warrant at his residence and on a Google account linked to the social media account he was using to upload the images.

His cell was seized during the search as well.

In all, Attorney Sellinger said that Torres was found in possession of more than 100 child porn videos.

He'll spend five years under supervised release following the eight years in prison and have to pay $15,000 in restitution.
