If you've driven through downtown Toms River lately, you may have seen new signs warning drivers to be careful and mindful as they're passing through the area.

That's right, these colorful signs have gone up around the area to protect our feathered friends.

This one is right on Robbins Street at Wilsey Way (the road behind the library that goes to the municipal parking garage).

There are a few others around downtown Toms River, as well as other busy roads near wildlife areas, like Fischer Boulevard about a mile before Route 37.

As we move further into spring and closer to summer, make sure you keep an eye out for the families of waterfowl who are also using our roadways!
