Ah, spring in Ocean County! All the signs are starting to show up; flowers and trees blooming, "spring peepers" chirping away and, oh yeah, the sounds of sniffling and sneezing.

Last week we talked about allergy season giving lots of us at the Shore a serious case of the sniffles, but I'm curious about how you deal with your allergies.

For most of my life, I've taken over the counter allergy medication seasonally. I've alternated between loratidine (Claritin) and fexofenadine (Allegra), but lately I've found that neither seem to be as effective as they used to be for me.

It's quite possible that since I've taken allergy medication for so long, my body may have built up a tolerance for the medications, making them less effective. Or, it's also possible that my allergies have just gotten worse over the years.

So I'm asking for your strategies - do you take a specific allergy medication that works well for you? Do you prefer natural remedies? Comment below and let us know how you deal with allergy season in Ocean County!
