Some listeners may not be aware that there is actually a Hall of Fame dedicated to New Jersey radio. There certainly is, and 92.7 WOBM is proud to be the home of 2 active members of it!

The New Jersey Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame inducted their inaugural class in June of 2012 and we were proud that one of our own personalities was included.

Of course, we are talking about 92.7 WOBM's legendary Topic A host Bob Levy. Kevin Williams dedicated a Hometown View segment on the historic induction at the time and noted that Bob was much more than the radio host you listen to for 4 hours every Sunday. According to Kevin, Levy was "the original WOBM employee" and wore many hats throughout his tenure at the station including, but not limited to:

  • Sales Manager
  • Sports Director
  • Play by Play of Toms River & Brick football, Lakewood basketball, and Lakewood's Little League World Series run
  • General Manager
  • Co-host of Bob & Marianne in the Morning

While a Hall of Famer, Bob is still going strong and to this day can be heard on Topic A every Sunday with his co-host Jeremy Grunin. Watch his NJBA Lifetime Achievement Award acceptance speech now:

Our other Hall of Famer is fittingly the person whose Hometown View we referenced above. Three years after Bob, Kevin Williams officially joined the NJBA Hall of Fame in June of 2015.

His achievements at the time included being a 9-time New Jersey Sportscaster of the Year, founder & director of the WOBM Christmas Classic - a 32-team boys and girls high school basketball tournament and the voice behind the very popular "Hometown View" on 92.7 WOBM and Beach Radio 1160 & 1310.

Kevin is still very active at both 92.7 WOBM and the Shore Sports Network, where among other things you can hear him on Friday Night Football games throughout the fall from around Ocean County.

We are proud to call both Bob & Kevin colleagues as we continue to follow in their impressive footsteps of serving the community. As the times change and technology changes, WOBM's delivery inevitably continues to evolve, however, the passion and dedication that these two Hall of Famers exhibit continue to set the bar for radio excellence.
