Over Memorial Day Weekend 12 Year Old, Nick DeBenedetto of Lacey had a Lemonade stand that almost raised $250 in one day.

All of the money raised went to Vetwork, a Lacey-based nonprofit that helps Veterans, according to the patch.com.

I love this when kids do great things for the community, way to go Nick.

On Monday (Memorial Day) Nick set up another lemonade stand with all proceeds going to Vetwork. On Monday, he raised over $300.

From Vetwork's website:

The Organization was formed to address Veterans’ issues such as employment, family stress, substance abuse, housing for the disabled, special needs for children of veterans, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder counseling. Vetwork provides assistance to all honorably discharged veterans in the form of professional counseling for alcohol/drug abuse issues, PTSD, eliminating barriers to employment, supportive services, emergency shelter, homeless-prevention, food, claims for VA benefits and other entitlements, and transportation services. The Vetwork Program, now Vetwork, A Program of Vetgroup, Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Lemonade stands are still a great way for kids to be a part of the community and really do amazing things. There are so many wonderful local organizations to donate their money to here in Ocean County.

Awesome job for raising money for such an awesome organization. To learn more about Vetwork or to donate, click here.
