It's called the "Community College Innovation Challenge" and the State announced beginning in January some Community Colleges will begin offering FREE tuition to students who qualify. To qualify students must come from a Family with an annual income of $45,000 or less. Community Colleges here in the Garden State will apply for the funding and if granted will offer to students beginning in 2019.

$20 Million will come from Trenton to fund this project with an additional $5 Million going toward planning grants. According to State Officials .... Students will not have to apply for the tuition-free program. Students will be automatically enrolled if they meet all qualifications and their college is part of the new pilot program.

Students must take at minimum 6 credit hours per semester to be eligible.
