Officers who arrived on Sandra Place at about 9:30 PM were told by the driver for a Chinese restaurant that he brought an order to a house on the street but was told at the doorway that no one had called for any.

Returning to his car, the driver was approached by two black males, police said. One asked if he was delivering Chinese food and walked toward the car. The other brandished what appeared to be a handgun, according to his statement to police.

The driver took off running and heard one say, "Stop or I'll shoot," authorities said, and then called police with his cell phone.

A search of the area by several officers and a K-9 team proved fruitless.

Both suspects were described as appearing to be about 20 years old. One was described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, the other a dark hooded sweat jacket, and the hoods on both were up.

Detective Gregory Mullarkey leads the investigation and can be reached at 732-262-1122.
