An anonymous caller tipped off the Neptune Township Police Department of a possible "shots fired" situation on Squirrel Road last Thursday night.

After further investigation, no shots were found to be fired. However, officers conducted a follow-up investigation, which ascertained the recovery of a handgun and a large amount of marijuana along with other contraband.

Neptune residents Telquan Adams, 23; Curtis Thigpen, Jr. 23; Jerrod Jones, 23; Jakim Stradford, 24 all were arrested by Neptune Township Police along with Asbury Park resident Anthony Miller, 23.

All five of the suspects have were charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Possession of Hollow Point Bullets, Possession of Marijuana more than 50 Grams, Possession of Marijuana more than 50 Grams in a School Zone, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession of Hashish and Possession of Drug Paraphilia.

According to authorities, the suspects have been transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution where they are awaiting a bail hearing.

All the charges above are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
