If you are looking for a fun and entertaining day out with your family I have a recommendation for you "picking". If you have never gone "picking" you are missing out on a great day outdoors in the sunshine and fresh air with your family and friends. Plus after you are done you have fresh produce to eat! Now we have lots of great farms around the Garden State. Simply Google "picking farms near me" and you will get a list of farms you can drive to and enjoy a day on the farm.

Depending on the season, you will find various produce available to pick. For instance, it appears strawberries are a big hit, and that's what we picked. There were also snap peas and radishes for picking too. We have snap peas and radishes growing in our garden at home so we focused on strawberries. You get a nice workout when you pick so that's another cool thing. I find it very relaxing being out on a farm and leisurely picking vegetables and fruit.

The location we visited, for the first time, was in Burlington County and was about an hour's drive from home. We went to Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford. It is a beautiful farm with all kinds of things to do including shops to eat and shop and playgrounds for kids. You take a nice tractor ride out to the picking fields, giving you the total "farm" experience.

We were there for a couple hours and it was plenty of time to bring home a nice haul of fresh strawberries and a few extra items as well. Johnson's Corner Farm is located at 133 Church Rd, Medford, NJ 08055.
