Main Street in downtown Toms River has been a busy place lately, and soon, in addition to a pair of new restaurants that we previously talked about, folks will also be able to raise a beer brewed right in the heart of the Township.

With Morocco Local Grill opening on the north side of the Washington Street intersection, Crave restaurant setting up shop on the south side, and A Thyme For All Seasons expanding to roomier digs along the same stretch, the downtown food scene is suddenly energized.

And now, a brewery is in the works to start filling glasses right on Toms River's main drag in the coming months.

The Asbury Park Press is reporting that "Hops on Main" is in the works to take over the former River Market restaurant at 67 Main Street.

The report says that the brewery will offer a wide variety of beers, with a focus on their namesake hops brews.

As of right now, the report pegs the suds to start flowing, "in the first half of 2019".

When a more specific timetable comes into focus, we'll be sure to keep you in the loop!
