Council Urges State Rejection Of Water Rate Hike
The water may be clean, but the price is dirty, say Toms River officials.
The township Council this week approved resolutions urging state regulators to reject rate hikes sought by New Jersey American and United Water Toms River. New Jersey American's surcharge would cost Barrier Island customers almost $3 more per month.
United Water's seeking an extra $9.39 a month, a nearly 25% hike, equating to more than 106% in four years.
