If you drive along Rt. 9 in Forked River you see a lot of construction.

Popeyes Chicken is almost ready for opening at the ShopRite Plaza. The Home Depot and Kohl's Plaza along Rt. 9, Chipotle is being built and another building is right next to it, unless it's the same building. It looks like two. I haven't heard if another restaurant is going in there or a store. Maybe you know?

The old Dunkin lot next to Taco Bell is completely cleared out, hoping for something new there. Forked River is growing and growing. I notice the land is for sale, it would be nice to have a nice sit-down, family restaurant there. A little bit down the road was Charlie Brown's, which closed because of the pandemic, just like the other Charlie Brown's in Ocean County.

There's new construction going on, where the miniature golf course once stood. Remember that, it was so cute. I believe it's been closed for years now. The land is right next to Nikko Asian Bistro & Sushi.

There is nothing being built yet on that land, but they're clearing it all out. Does anyone know what's going on there? I checked the Facebook page Lacey Township Chatter and I couldn't find any information. I can't wait to see what is going in that land. What do you think it will be?

Apartments, restaurants, another strip mall? If you know, please email me at sue.moll@townsquaremedia.com
