It was a year ago today that Lacey Township's landmark Caffrey's Tavern burst into flames.

And today, exactly a year later, we're getting an idea of when the popular restaurant will reopen for business.

It's been a bumpy road over the past 12 months, with a permit denial, than a permit denial reversal all happening before the rebuilding work could commence.

In an article posted today, Jersey Shore Online quoted owner Dan Coleman as saying that the plan is to reopen in stages.

They're currently building a new outdoor area, Caffrey's Backyard, in hopes of opening the new full-service patio first, with plans to start serving, “by the end of September.”

Then, the full restaurant is hoping for an early 2020 grand reopening, in time to celebrate the restaurant's 25th anniversary on January 24th.
