Local police and county investigators are probing a fatal three-vehicle accident that leaves a motorcyclist dead on Route 9 in Waretown. Ocean Township Traffic Safety Officer Steve Mandarine says the crash occured Tuesday night at the intersection of Clearwater Drive and Route 9 at around 5:30 p.m. when the driver of a 2004 Ford Taurus was attempting to make a left turn. The biker, identified as 45 year old Donald Harrington of Waretown slammed into the car's passenger side with his 2001 Harley Davidson, was thrown from the bike and into the path of an SUV traveling south bound on Route 9.   Harrington was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation continues. Mandarine says the driver of the Ford, identified as 47-year-old Frederick Hockhstrasser submitted to a blood alcohol test.  He says investigators with the Ocean County Prosecutors office are assisting with the probe.  No summons have been issued.

On Sunday, a bicyclist was stuck and killed in Waretown according to the Press of Atlantic City.
