When people think of New Jersey, they usually picture the beaches first, and honestly, who can blame them? But one of the things I love most about living here is how many incredible views we have all over the state.

From roaring waterfalls to ocean panoramas and skyline views that never get old, New Jersey is packed with places that can truly take your breath away. And the best part? You don’t need to be an expert hiker to enjoy most of them.

These are three of my absolute favorite views in New Jersey, plus one classic view that I think tops them all.

Buttermilk Falls In The Delaware Water Gap

If you’ve never been to Buttermilk Falls, this needs to go on your New Jersey bucket list.

Located in the Delaware Water Gap, this is considered New Jersey’s tallest waterfall, and what makes it even better is how easy it is to see. The main viewing area is just a short walk from the parking lot, making it one of those rare places where the reward comes almost instantly.

The sound of the rushing water, the peaceful forest around it, and the sheer height of the falls make it one of the most stunning natural views in the entire state.

I love that this spot feels like a hidden escape, even though it’s so easy to access.

Cape May Lighthouse At Cape May Point State Park

The views from Cape May are always special, but the Cape May Lighthouse takes it to another level.

There’s just something magical about standing near the southern tip of New Jersey and looking out at the endless ocean. The beach grass, dunes, and wide-open sky make this one of the most peaceful views anywhere in the state.

Whether you climb the lighthouse or simply admire the scenery from the grounds, the ocean views here are absolutely amazing. It’s one of those places that instantly makes you slow down and just take it all in.

Liberty State Park In Jersey City

For a completely different kind of New Jersey beauty, Liberty State Park is unbeatable.

The views of the Manhattan skyline from here are honestly unbelievable. Seeing the city rise across the water, especially around sunset, is something that never gets old no matter how many times you’ve seen it.

It’s one of the best reminders that New Jersey offers some of the most iconic skyline views anywhere. Between the water, the city lights, and the open park space, it’s the perfect mix of peaceful and dramatic.

The Best View Of All? A New Jersey Beach

As incredible as waterfalls, lighthouses, and skyline overlooks are, I still think the best view in New Jersey is the simplest one.

Sitting on one of our beautiful beaches, listening to the waves roll in, feeling the ocean breeze, and watching the sun sparkle on the water is hard to beat.

Sometimes the most unforgettable views aren’t the ones high above the ground — they’re the ones where you’re simply relaxing with your toes in the sand.

And in my opinion, nobody does beach views better than New Jersey.
