I'm what they call a Late Adopter when it comes to technology.  I don't stand in lines so I can be the first to get a new type of phone.  I wait until things are proven, and then I get people's opinions, and then I'll buy the thing or try the app.  Usually I consider this a positive character trait.  I think it's me being a smart consumer.  But in the case of the technology I just discovered, I wish I didn't wait so long.  I'm talking about Mobile Deposit.  It's my new favorite thing!

If you haven't yet tried it, here's why you might want to.  It's a huge time saver!  Download your bank's app on your device, log in, click "Mobile Deposit," indicate which bank account you want the deposit to go into, enter the dollar amount, then take a photo of the front and the back of the check and hit "submit."  I think it took longer for me to type those instructions than it did to make the actual deposit!

Being able to deposit checks in this way is super convenient.  No longer is it necessary to get on your coat, get in the car, drive to the branch, wait in line, and then drive back home.  In seconds the transaction can be done on your phone or tablet and you can get on with more important things.

With all due respect to the nice bank tellers in Ocean County, I'm going to stop in less often now that I can do Mobile Deposit.

Have you been using the feature?  What do you like most about it?
