A Red, White and Blue Craft of the Month-Sue’s Mommy Blog

For the first five years I had a Mommy Blog about my daughter Abby’s life and what it was like for me as a first time Mommy. Now she’s a 9 year old diva and I’ve decided to bring back the Mommy blog. Her life and what she does is just so funny, it’s too funny not to talk about or write about! It’s time to share our adventures with you again. Wow, I can't believe she's 9. Time flies.

It's craft time! It's all about the Red, Blue and White for the month of May.

I've teamed up with Smart Start Academy on Rt. 9 in Toms River to do their craft of the month with Abby.

May's craft - Hand print Flag

Materials:

gray construction paper

red paint

white paint

blue paint

3 paint brushes

silver star stickers

Popsicle stick

red and white curling ribbon

hole punch

Directions:

Cut 9x11 construction paper into 4's.

Using a paint brush paint the child's palm blue, and alternate red and white on the fingers.

Press painted hand onto the gray paper.

Lay to dry.

Stick silver stars onto the blue palm print.

Glue a popsicle stick to the back.

Punch a hole in the top left corner, push ribbon through, tie and curl.
