This feels like a strange day. I've written more stories about former Jersey Shore Kmart locations in just the last two hours than I have in the last two years.

But, the news on each is pretty big, so I want to be sure that whether you're on the northern end of our audience or the southern end, you're learning what's happening where your local Kmart stores used to be.

Earlier, I told you about the updated plans for the former Kmart location in Manahawkin, with Stafford Township officials giving us the latest details on the stores that are coming to the Route 72 plaza, moving within the plaza, and more.

You can click here for today's report on the Manahawkin Commons shopping center plans.

Next, we head up to another one of the Jersey Shore's busiest highways - Route 35 in Wall.

The Kmart on 35 closed just last year, but since its shuttering, many have wondered what will take its place on the prime slice of Shore real estate.

Today, the Asbury Park Press is reporting that a new Target will take the former Wall Kmart's place.

Eagle-eyed researchers noticed that Target's website lists 1825 Route 35 in Wall as a future store location.

The Press reached out to the mega-retailer for comment, and while a Target spokesperson confirmed that they'll be setting up shop in the former Kmart's footprint, they demurred on specifics, teasing, "As we get closer to opening the store, we’ll have more specific details to share".

We'll keep an eye on the progress and let you know when the new Target on Route 35 in Wall gets closer to opening.
