A New Parking Lot Comes To A High Profile Toms River Spot

One thing that we can all agree on is the fact that downtown Toms River needs more convenient, accessible parking.

That being said, the township just completed work to make more than two dozen parking spots available in a prime downtown location.

If it takes you a minute or two to recognize that location, maybe this will help:

Yup, that's the former location of the Red Carpet Inn at the intersection of Water Street and Main Street.

Toms River Public Information Officer Stacy Georgaklis tells me that the parking lot will be temporary while the NJDOT and the redevelopers of the site work on finalizing the long term plans, but for now it gives residents and visitors another option for downtown parking.
