An upcoming discussion, in Point Pleasant ,  will focus on the Iraq War
Robert M. Tanner, one of 23,000 Marines who was serving in Iraq in 2004, was deployed on tour in one of the most dangerous regions of the country, Fallujah.

Tanner has documented his experiences and the story of his unit, the Delta Company Outlaws, in his book “Memoirs of an Outlaw: Life in the Sandbox.”

He will discuss his book 7 p.m. Monday June 9 at the Pt. Pleasant Borough branch of Ocean County Library, 834 Beaver Dam Rd., and tell how writing to document wartime experiences was therapeutic for him. Local groups will also be on hand to provide attendees with information about resources that are available to assist veterans who are dealing with PTS-issues.

Copies of his book will be available for purchase and he will sign them following the presentation.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information go to the Web site www.theoceancountylibrary.org or telephone the operator at (732) 349-6200 or (609) 971-0514.
