On an absolutely perfect spring afternoon, the crowds were out at the beaches and boardwalks, and were treated to a retro gem from a disco queen.

Thelma Houston took the huge stage in front of the park by Convention Hall in Asbury Park and belted out her hits like "Don't Leave Me This Way" like she hadn't missed a beat in the last 38 years.

Seriously - she looked great, she sounded great, and the crowd ate up every second of her set. She of course "played the hits", as well as Motown favorites and hits from some of her disco sisters (like Donna Summer's "Last Dance").

On a picture perfect spring Sunday - barely any clouds in the sky, low humidity, a nice breeze off the ocean but not too chilly, it was a perfect way to spend some time outside and enjoy some of the unique offerings that we have here at the Jersey shore!
