50 Golden Acts of Good: Ocean’s Harbor House

“50 Golden Acts of Good” is the campaign launched in January by our partners from the Causeway Family of Dealerships in celebration of their 50^th anniversary.

Each month this year the Manahawkin-based auto group is awarding a $10,000 grant to an Ocean County non-profit, an extraordinary charitable endeavor that will clearly make a positive impact in the community.  The year-long effort will culminate in December with the awarding of a new Ford Transit Connect Van.

June’s $10,000 grant recipient is Ocean’s Harbor House which offers help to homeless, runaway, abused, neglected and abandoned youth between the ages of 10-21 who are primarily from Ocean and Monmouth counties.

Their mission is to provide a safe haven and caring environment for these vulnerable young people along with a goal of helping them reach their potential and learn skills to build healthier lives, relationships and futures.

Founded in 1985, Ocean’s Harbor House has helped tens of thousands of children and their families with temporary and transitional housing, counseling and support services thanks to the skill and dedication of their staff, community leaders and volunteers.

All services are free, voluntary and confidential and that includes a 12-bed shelter for youth in crisis, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  There are many ways for individuals and organizations to volunteer and help homeless children feel safe and loved.  Simply call (732) 929-0096, x205 or visit oceansharborhouse.org.

Ocean’s Harbor House joins previous $10,000 grant recipients CONTACT, Ocean Partnership for Children, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean County, Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey and Meals on Wheels of Ocean County with the next announcement coming in July.

Founded by David C. Wintrode in 1969 the Causeway Family of Dealerships has been a fixture on Route 72 in Manahawkin and so has been their commitment to the community.  The “Golden Acts of Good” is just the latest example.
