Get The Most Out Of Summer At The Shore

So last week I played the role of “Debbie Downer” when I proclaimed that summer was almost over. Of course I am well aware that we still have 7 full weeks before Labor Day weekend so there is time to enjoy many of the things the Jersey Shore has to offer. Well what are you waiting for, the clock is ticking but there is time to:

Spend a weekend afternoon at Monmouth Park which remains one of America’s truly great homes for thoroughbred racing. There is live racing every Friday, Saturday & Sunday and the $1 million Haskell Stakes is coming up on July 20^th.

Catch a Jersey Shore BlueClaws game at Shoretown Ballpark. They have week-long home stands through September 1^st and it’s a lot cheaper and easier than going to a major league game. Visit blueclaws.com for more.

Enjoy a day and night on the beach and boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach and take advantage of all the offerings Jenkinson’s has.

Go fishing or crabbing if you like (which frankly I don’t). There are many options all over the shore area.

Take a ride to LBI and make sure to stop at the “Chicken or the Egg” for their famous wings. Combine that with a visit to Thundering Surf Waterpark and Fantasy Island and you’ve got a full day.

There are too many restaurants to mention but don’t be intimidated by the summer crowds. Go on a weekday and eat early. Afterwards you can enjoy a cocktail and live entertainment somewhere close…there are many options.

Spend a day on any beach from LBI to Point Pleasant Beach. If you’re in Seaside Heights take a stroll on the boardwalk, cool off at Breakwater Beach, play miniature golf at Smuggler’s Quay, visit the newly renovated historical carousel on the north end and finish with ice cream from Kohr’s.
