5 Things That Should Replace The Red Roof Inn in Toms River
We have been telling you for the past couple of months that the Township of Toms River has purchased the Red Roof Inn. Anyone could speculate the ultimate reason for the purchase was the high and constant crime in the area.
There have been multiple rumors circulating on social media pertaining to the fate of the motel, none of which have been verified. So, I thought it would be fun to throw some suggestions to Toms River... and here they are:
- 1
Cracker Barrel
This is likely never going to happen in Ocean County, unfortunately. Cracker Barrel recently commented on the speculation that a restaurant was going to move into our market... and it was kind of disheartening. Still, though, a guy can dream, right?
- 2
Dave & Buster's
Here we go again. I don't want to hear that the lot is not big enough for a Dave & Buster's... because anything is possible with a little hope. I have mentioned that I want a Dave & Buster's multiple times in the past. Here is our chance... AND could you imagine the tourism that Toms River would get?

Gas Station
I know what you are probably thinking... "we have gas stations everywhere!"... well, I have always wondered why as soon as you get into downtown Toms River, there is not one gas station until the QuickChek in Beachwood or the Wawa at the intersection of Hooper... maybe I am overreacting but it would be nice to have a gas station in downtown Toms River.

Longhorns Steakhouse
I can already hear you getting the pitchforks with this one. Here is my issue: there are only one or two fine dining restaurants in Downtown Toms River, and it would be nice if we didn't have to drive deep into Toms River or Lacey to fine dine... am I right? No? Just me? Okay.

Trees! A Park!
Here is a thought: why do we have to put anything there? It would be nice to have an addition to Huddy Park and plant trees there.
