A Cracker Barrel Official Comments On Toms River Rumors

It's one of those rumors that gets new life at least every couple of months.

Someone posts on social media that their neighbor's friend's hairdresser who definitely knows, spills the beans that the Jersey Shore is getting a Cracker Barrel.

Last summer it was Lanoka Harbor.

Before that, it was Freehold.

And the Toms River rumors come back just about every time a shopping plaza has a vacancy.

So I did the only logical thing left to do - I asked Cracker Barrel directly.

To their credit, a representative got back to me literally in only minutes. But I don't think you'll like the answer:

We're always considering opportunities for new locations, but we have no announcements to make at this time about opening a new store in Ocean County, New Jersey. I'll be sure to let you know if that changes any time in the near future.

So, there you go, Ocean County. Sorry, we're not getting a Cracker Barrel any time soon.

It doesn't mean that we're never getting one, but that cousin's kid's teacher's mail carrier who has insider knowledge that Route 37 is for sure getting one was wrong, I'm afraid.
