5 Delicious Foods That Will Make You Smile For New Years Here at the Jersey Shore

Well, we are counting down the last few days of 2021 and as we get set to welcome the new year, we start thinking about what we will do on New Yer's Eve?

Not only do we have to decide where we will spend New Year's Eve, but also what food we want to celebrate 2022? This is always a fun night so often we have "fun" food as well.

New Year's Eve, for my family, is usually fun food and not a big sit-down dinner. More of a grab-and-go kinda buffet of a few different "finger foods". It's our last "binge" before we go into de-tox mode on January 1st lol

I thought I would list my TOP 5 New Year's Eve "finger" foods and maybe you will put them on your party list also.

5. Chips and Dip

This can be two ways, one would be standard potato chips and onion dip or tortilla style chips with sals and guacamole (my preference).

4. Swedish Meatballs

These are always great for New Year's Eve. Swedish meatballs are a change of pace and simple to set up and serve, just grab some toothpicks, and your ready. Gravy is optional :)

3. Cheese Plate

Simple and delicious. Every party needs cheese and a simple cheese plate with a few varieties and some grapes will make anyone's night. I always make sure I have pepper jack on the list :)

2. Chicken Wings

One of the best "finger foods" chicken wings are a must for really any party, but especially New Year's Eve. I'll take a side of ranch for dipping,  maybe a bit of blue cheese.

1. Pigs in a Blanket

Number one is the famous "pig in a blanket" Sue Molls favorite and the most popular every New Year's Eve. Yes, I will indulge in a few of these :)

Honorable Mention: Pizza Bites

Our "honorable mention" goes to the "pizza bite" my daughter insisted this make the list and I agree with her and yes it will make an appearance on New Year's Eve.

• Jan: When I was married and we lived in NYC my husband and I almost always spent New Year’s Eve at his sister’s house. At midnight she and her husband put out rolls, cold cuts, and homemade salads. In the morning there were Mimosas for breakfast.
