Titus Calhoun, 29, of Toms River and Jesse Jackson, 30, of Lakewood face multiple counts in a month-long probe by the Toms River Special Enforcement Team and Emergency Services Unit.

Authorities say they also recovered seven grams of crack cocaine and $2,300 in cash inside the room in the Ramada Inn on Route 9.

Police accuse the pair of running a distribution ring out of several hotel rooms in the Toms River area.

Bail for each was set at $250,000 at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.

Police credit private citizens with providing reports of suspicious activity that led to the probe. "The information proved valuable and was essential to the success of this case," said Chief Mike Mastronardy.

Toms River PD Sergeant Shaun O'Keefe oversees the Special Enforcement Team and takes confidential, anonymous tips at 349-0150, extension 1272.
