will the new forked river rest stop open this week?

This weekend I stopped into the Forked River fueling station on the Garden State Parkway. This was my first fill up since it recently re-opened for service.

The new Sunoco is open along with a brand new APlus convenience store. A Plus has snacks, soft drinks, coffee etc. and is owned by 7-11. This makes for a quick pit stop for motorists.

The main “rest area” has been under construction for months and a brand new rest center has be been built from the ground up. The new rest area looks completely different from the old rest stop, with the same look as the Monmouth Center at mile marker 100.

According to my source, the new rest area may re-open this week, however I do not have the final vendor line-up for the location at this time.

It will be a welcome site for travelers to have this location open and available. Of course as I mentioned the Sunoco & APlus are open now.
