Water Main Bursts in Toms River

We have updated information about the water main that left several dozen United Water customers dry early this morning. They're under a boil advisory for the next 24 to 48 hours.

Traffic along Route 37 near Shady Brook Drive, just west of the Parkway, is subject to detours until repairs are complete. A company spokesperson estimates completion by about 2 PM.

Affected areas include The Commons, and all addresses on Common Way; and homes on Mitchell, Elmwood, Boxwood and Cedar Inn Drives.

It's the second main problem in as many weeks for United Water. A break on April 29 hampered service to another Toms River neighborhood, also near Route 37.
