UPDATE: Crash that led to power outage and road closure in Brick leads to DUI charge
A Brick Township man is charged with DUI after a one-vehicle crash this morning that downed a utility pole on Cherry Quay Road, causing a partial closure and power outage, according to Brick Police Department spokesman, Sgt. Neil Pedersen.
29-year-old Jeremy Bergmann, who lives on Cherry Quay Road, was not injured, according to Pedersen.
The accident knocked out power to as many as 1,500 JCP&L customers, but was just about fully restored around 7 a.m., according to the utility's website.
Traffic continues being detoured around the crash from Tiller Lane through the Drum Point Little League Sports Complex back onto Cherry Quay Road, according to Pedersen.
