Two Hurt in Morning Rush Toms River Crash

A Friday-morning collision on busy Whitesville Road in Toms River leaves both drivers nursing minor injuries but leaves both cars with extensive damage.

Police say that a little before 8 AM, Olive Tourtillott, 77, of the township, turned her Chrysler left from westbound Whitesville, aiming for Smokerise Lane, but landing in the path of an eastbound Honda driven by Ashley Russano, 22, of Island Heights.

Both were treated at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Ms. Tourtillott was ticketed for a careless-driving offense. Police did not report any significant traffic delays.
