Trucker Dead in Lakewood Crash

A tow-truck driver is dead after an early-moring collision on Route 9 in Lakewood.

The Lakewood Scoop reports that the rig was seen speeding and swerving near Georgia Tavern Road around 1 AM, just before it crashed into a box truck and careened into the divider.

The driver reportedly was trapped inside and required extrication and CPR maneuvers, dying a short time later at Kimball Medical Center.

Authorities have not released details of the driver's identity, the company that owns the vehicle, or indications of injuries to anyone else involved.
