Anthony J. Levine, 23, of Lakewood, was arrested Sunday at the Ramada Inn on Route 9 after officers responded to a disturbance call, police said.

Staffers told patrol officers that Levine appeared to be in an altered state, refused to leave the building and began threatening them, authorities said.

Officers Mark Nater and Josh Pedalino found several wax folds containing heroin in Levine's pockets, police said. A more detailed search revealed 170 more wax folds, 11 needles, three glass pipes and $47,228 in cash, police said.

Levine was released to await arraignment on five separate charges related to drug possession and distribution.
