Over the last few months we have covered the story of 12 year old Kyle McGetrick a number of times. This past weekend, hundreds in Barnegat came together to remember Kyle, others who have fallen victim to cancer, and those who are currently struggling with cancer.

I'm happy to report that the Barnegat Relay for Life raised nearly $40,000 this past weekend, with Kyle's team responsible for over $4,000 of that.

Last week I told you about the number of events that were held in Kyle's honor, including Barnegat High School's "A Seat on the Aisle for Kyle" fundraiser. The teen organizers of the event left a "Reserved" seat in the auditorium in honor of Kyle. Interestingly, the following picture was shared with me at the end of the event:

As a bright blue light is clearly visible above the row of high schoolers (which, photographer Bill Cox told me, was not visible at the time that the picture was taken), it's inspiring to think that maybe Kyle was, in fact, there in spirit.
