Point Pleasant Borough and neighboring Point Pleasant Beach have warned residents about raccoons walking erratically and screeching, two symptoms of rabies.

After a year away, the one-of-a-kind event will return for a third time on Saturday, October 9th. The series of tugs-of-war across the Manasquan Inlet serves as a recreation department fundraiser for Manasquan and Point Pleasant Beach.

Thomas R. Hannan, Jr., 73, of Point Pleasant Beach was a Lieutenant with the Rutgers University Emergency Services who passed away last weekend following a battle with cancer.
