Eighteen elementary school students suffered minor injuries in the accident in Galloway Township.

Police say 50-year-old Galloway resident Peter Walker was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer when it hit a school bus driven by 21-year-old Jennifer McDonald of Egg Harbor City.

The accident occurred while the bus was turning left at an intersection. About 30 students from the Smithville Elementary School were riding the bus.

Police spokesman Paul Dooner says 18 students suffered minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals. He said Walker was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden and remained there Friday.

A condition was not available for Walker. No charges have been filed against either driver.
