In September, thousands of Verizon Wireless customers in Ocean County suddenly found their service had suffered a massive interruption. As word got around and people started wondering what was going on, word came out that it was a localized equipment problem impacting much of Ocean County.

In a bizarre story, an abandoned car was spotted in the parking garage of Community Medical Center on Route 37 in Toms River. The body was later identified as that of a 28 year old Point Pleasant Beach man.
