Route 37 in Toms River Snarled by….A House

A major delay this afternoon on Route 37 in Toms River is the result of a mishap involving a modular home on a trailer crossing over Barnegat Bay.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a house on the span, with a line of cars and trucks snaking back several miles to near the Garden State Parkway.

Toms River police reported that the flatbed tractor-trailer hauling the home ran into construction barricades placed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. As of 3 PM, the estimated a wait of about an hour until it was resolved.
