The public will have their chance to voice their concerns as the South Jersey Transportation Authority goes through the process of re-adopting the rules and regulations of the Atlantic City Expressway.

The South Jersey Transportation Authority will be hosting a series of meetings for public comment as part of their regular process to renew rules for the expressway.

SJTA spokesman Kevin Rehmann said the basic rules establish speed limits, where you can walk pets, routes for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as toll collection regulations. He notes most of the regulations are the same as in years past, however there is one thing residents should be mindful of.  “The administrative fees for not paying for toll violations goes from twenty five to fifty dollars, but that’s more in line with what it is on the turnpike and parkway.”

Meetings will be held:

  • June 5, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the SJTA Administration Building, located at Milepost 21.3, Atlantic City Expressway, Elwood, New Jersey 08217
  • June 6, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Deptford Township Municipal Building, located at 1011 Cooper Street, Deptford, New Jersey 08096
  • June 7, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Winslow Township Municipal Court, 125 South Route 73, Braddock, New Jersey 08037

The proposal for the new rules and regulations can be viewed on the SJTA’s website.

Public comments must be submitted no later than July 19th.
